Preparing for BattleCry:

We do not waste time and money fundraising, we just give people an opportunity

to give. So this your opportunity to give, to make a change in a teen’s life. Please adopt a teen!

The cost to go to BattleCry this year will be $200. This includes all costs, tickets, transportation, meals and motel.

Teens and adults are challenged to find 20 people that are interested in their Spiritual growth and future and willing to invest $10.00 into their lives. They will be given an addressed and stamped envelope with their name on it. The donor will mail the donation directly to Matthew 25 Ministries and we will document everything.

BATTLECRY:

Awesome two day event! Thousands of teenagers praising God and standing up for Biblical principals! This year The Cross will take 10 adults and 40 teens! 

These events inspire the teens to live the life of Christ!

 OPERATION EGG HUNT:

We have changed this date from Resurrection Sunday in 2007, to Good Friday beginning in 2008.

This is one of the biggest events at The Cross. Come join us in a Community Wide Operation Egg Hunt & Evangelism Opportunity.  Matthew 25 Ministries “The Cross” needs your help!!! It’s not about eggs…it’s about evangelism! Need people to fill eggs, deliver invitations, stake out course at The Cross, hide eggs, sign people in, serve food & clean-up crew.

Need Teachers for the following age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-19 & adults.

Need donation of plastic eggs, Candy…lots & lots of chocolate!

RESURRECTION SUNDAY:

Held on Easter Sunday, best known as Resurrection Sunday.

The location of The Cross is the perfect place for this special time in the Lord.

A time of prayer and reflection on the sacrifice of Christ our resurrected Savior.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER:

This is an awesome opportunity to go into the schools and pray. National Day of Prayer is nation wide and there is no one sponsoring the schools in Coleman County . Need someone to step up and lead, all you need is on their website. www.ndptf.org/schools

THE CELEBRATION:

This is not a fundraiser, but a 3 day event to celebrate God’s goodness and grace to us personally, and to Matthew 25 Ministries and The Cross. For God saving us, delivering us, and sending His Son Jesus for us.  To celebrate Jesus for not only giving us life, but life more abundantly!

For 3 days there is a feast, friendship, Music, Ministry and Prayer.

Most of all, there are lives changed and souls saved!

FAITH & VICTORY MARCH:

This event was birthed from the heartache of the loss of family and friends through death, jail, prison and families destroyed by alcohol and drugs.

 A prayer wall for others (that have lost friends and family due to the abuse of drugs and/or alcohol, including those in prison and bondage to addictions) has been suggested.  

The march is comprised of 8 miles around the city, divided into 1 mile sections that 2 leaders plus teens and others - pray and walk (this is an added bonus that the teen has nothing to do but talk, which leads to a great ministering time.)

Need 20 leaders, 16 that can walk one mile.

SEE YOU AT THE POLE:

This event is nation wide. Student led. Adults can’t initiate (lead) but can participate.  But there is no law about rehearsing so each year we ask for a leader that will stand up and pray! Then Sundays before SYAT we rehearse meeting together and praying. This gives children in elementary the confidence and teaches them respect for prayer.

We need 3 leaders (Elementary, Jr. High & High School) per school. Last year there were 100 out of 1000 students in Coleman CISD that participated! Unfortunately by estimated guess there are 900 students that do not receive regular Christian training anywhere. website www.syatp.com

This is intense training for teen leaders through BattleCry.

THE FIESTA:

Leaders: Mo

This is an opportunity to reach thousands of people as they come to The Fiesta.       We set up a booth with free water and candy, give out our newsletter, sign people up for newsletters, give them information on our outreaches such as clothing and children’s ministries and have opportunity to minister.

Thanksgiving Feast:

Leader: Mo

This event came about when two separate groups came to the ministry asking about meeting the needs of those alone on Thanksgiving. This was a hard decision since it is one of the two days of the year that our sons have to spend with us. However we sacrificed this time and it has been a blessing. We do as much of the cooking that can be done before Thanksgiving, freeing people to be with their families. We actually serve more through take outs as we send food to those having to work on Thanksgiving Day than we actually feed at The Cross. Anyway, it is always a lot of fun, including the preparation of this event!

Parade:

This event is usually on a Thursday night (and for me, the worst time of the year) however always a lot of fun as we design and decorate the float. We always have around 30 children that want to ride. It is loud and exhausting and a lot of fun. Afterwards we feed the children which are starving and spend hours taking them home. Parents often deliver but can’t pick up. Imagine that! Throughout all this craziness children that do not qualify for any other float are always welcome at The Cross float. And it gives the community a chance to see some of what we do.

Decorating The Cross:

Need someone to take leadership in this area and a group effort to carry it out. Have enough decorations for 7 acres, plus inside which we have 3 trees (at least) antiques nativity scenes and a CHRISTmas fence to keep the kids out!

Just need someone to design, organize, decorate and take down.

 CHRISTmas @ The Cross:

For some this about the only Christmas they get. Give the message of the true gift of CHRISTmas, Jesus and the gift you can give back “you”. One dollar gifts given to each child.

TEEN NITE:

I have been interested in this from the beginning because it included churches working together and giving teens an opportunity to get together in a supervised environment. This is an exciting move that began with a pastor looking for a safe night out for teens. In fact, Mickey's report 82 Jr. High and 90 High School students and around 50 parents, great job!
