THE CROSS Since 2003

" For I was hungry
and you gave me something to eat..."
Began 1994
Emergency assistance of food. Community Wide Thanksgiving Feast with the help of churches in our area.
OPEN DOOR began in the Wilson's home in 1994 for anyone needing Christian fellowship.
We are currently at our 8th and last location at The Cross.

OPEN DOOR provides a hot meal and warm friendship for anyone needing a place to go.
OPEN DOOR is a neutral place where everyone can receive friendship, music, food, and prayer. Open Door is an alternative to being on the streets.
Praise Jesus!

 DEVO

DEVO "Devotional Time
What started at The Cross as Open Door turned into a children's ministry. (Just imagine Matthew 25 Ministries being donated a school system and a bus and children come!) There can be anywhere from 20 to 50 children (ages 2 to 11) on a Sunday afternoon. At 2PM Minister Barry (better known to the children as "The Bus Driver") along with a bus monitor pick up children from all around Coleman. As they come in they are offered a hot meal and after the meal it is DEVO! (See lots of photos on the Photo Page.) DEVO is a fast pace ministry including DVD's which the children dance and sing to. Short skits and Bible Study and lots and lots of prayer! These children are taught about breaking generational curses, Spiritual warfare, Power and Authority over their minds, how to believe in prayer and of course JESUS, JESUS, JESUS!

 "...I was thirsty a
and you gave me something to drink..."
Since 2000
When there is a Spiritual thirst, The Cross has almost 7 acres (and soon 339 seat auditorium) to be used for revivals, evangelism outreaches and Christian concerts. We have found friendship with new Christians is essential to their Spiritual growth. THE CELEBRATION began in 2000 as an annual 3-day celebration in June (now at The Cross, see last page photo album) that includes friendship, music & prayer, ministry, testimony & witnessing! Easter Sunday we have Operation Egg Hunt & Evangelism Opportunity with teachers from local churches.
Faith & Victory March is a 8 mile march around the city in stand against drugs. Prayer changes Everything!

"...I  was a stranger and you invited me in..."
Since 1997
Along with outreaches, The Cross makes available Support Groups for those with specific needs. Many people with a history of addictions and arrests have been taken  to SOS Ministries (men's residential program, plus teen pregnancy & mom residential program) and in San Angelo, Victory Outreach. Coleman is in real need of a shelter and/or residential programs!

The Storehouse... Everything is Free!
"...I was naked and you clothed me..."
Since 1998
Matthew 25 Ministries help to relieve the financial burden for those in need of clothes and provide a new look for those wanting a new start.
The Storehouse located at 411 West Liveoak St.in Coleman. Everything is free and we receive more than clothes!
The surplus clothes are sent to other countries. Currently renting a facility that is too small and leaks. Needed large building donated or funds to build The Storehouse on The Cross property!
With the help of several volunteers and those needing community service hours we sort and stock clothes.
There is a 4X8' storage building in back for drop off donations.

Prison & Jail Ministry
"...I was in prison and you came to visit me."
Since 1996
Matthew 25 Ministries actually began at the local jail in 1996, and increased as the Wilsons began meeting the needs of families and those coming out of jail or prison.
A priority of the ministry is weekly visits to the local jail and writing letters to those in prison, these letters encourage faith, strength and hope in Jesus Christ and assure them they are not alone when they get home.
Matthew 25 Ministries is now working with juveniles on probation doing community service.
We hope to never see these youth behind bars!
